ABOUT WEBINAR
One of the pinching problems, hindering growth of agribusiness enterprises, is the lack of knowledge of business practices, particularly regarding the market. One reason for this is the absence of a scientific approach to train the farming community. Though business can be run by common sense, profitability and sustainability will take a back bench, if it is not managed based on scientific principles.
There are several programmes organized under the banner of entrepreneurship training programmes, the outcomes are usually unrealistic, which seem to be unadoptable by FPOs. Our training package from CUSAT would be focused on training the FPOs right from identifying the customer problems, ideation, selection of ideas, and prototyping of product, market testing and commercial launching. Inputs other than the domain expertise (marketing will be provided from expert pool of faculty available at our side and from external pool. This programme would ensure enriching the participants with the needed content to be a self-starter. We are also planning to provide the basics of digital marketing during this programme.
Also limited access to commercial technologies available for sale with research and development centres. Often businesses trail when there fail to pick up business opportunities and lack expertise in managing the business. The proposed Market Orientation for FPO’s (Agri and Allied) can be an initiative in this direction to serve as a nodal point where common man will be provided knowledge of selection of their idea of starting an enterprise from the agribusiness opportunities and its establishment and development with post training assistances of accessing technology and establishing business. The programme proposes to make use of the available facilities with School of Management Studies, CUSAT and draw experts from the domain to supply knowledge of technological inputs.
Objective
- Conduct Market Orientation Programme for office bearers/associates of FPOs with a view to familiarize with market survey, premarket surveys, analysis and results.
- Familiarize the potential opportunities in agri business and develop managerial competencies to initiate and manage agribusiness
- To facilitate post training enterprise development by adopting available saleable commercially viable technology available at key research and development institutions.
